These are strange times where things are disrupted and unsettling. More than ever we are aware that things are not as they should be. But are they ever? Yes, we have received a new life in Christ, but in so many ways it feels like our life before. We have grand promises but they are not yet realized, not yet consummated. Much of the Christian life is waiting. David provides us with an incredible comparison here. Anointed to be king as a young man, he is subjected to years of frustration, and seeming futility, until the promise was fulfilled. Learning from his life, we can find peace and comfort in this ‘in-between’ where we find ourselves.
